PLTC has applied for the CARES Grant for Higher Education. There are 3 Sections that apply to PLTC.

Section 18004(a)(1)

PLTC has signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

To date: PLTC has been approved for $33,666 of 18004(a)(1) funds.

We have distributed $30,063.00 of 18004(a)(1) funds.

We had 33 students who were eligible for Federal student aid program who might have eligible for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. Students who have completed the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid and attend classes on a full-time basis will receive $925.00 and those students who attend on a less than full-time bases will receive $463.00.  

All PLTC adult students will receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

Students have been verbally informed of the Emergency Financial Aid Grants.

Section 18004(a)(3)

PLTC has signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement for Funds under Section 18004(a)(3) of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, CARES Act)

To date: PLTC has been approved for $432,668.00 of 18004(a)(3) funds.

We have distributed $25,400 of 18004(a)(3) funds.

Those funds were used to purchase: PPE for adult students and simulators for adult programs to allow for real clinical experiences when clinical sites are closed due COVID-19.
